Pink jelly slice *

Boiling time on stove: Nil
Setting time in the DreamPot: 2 hours minimum
Set in the:

Ingredients:

Ingredients for base:
Additional butter to grease the foil
Butter | 185g melted
Milk coffee biscuits | 250g packet crushed

Ingredients for filling:
Nestle® condensed milk | 395g can
Lemon juice | 2 tablespoons
Powdered gelatine | 2 teaspoons
Boiling water | ½ cup

Ingredients for topping:
Aeroplane creaming soda jelly crystals | 1 x 85g packet
Powdered gelatine | 2 teaspoons

Method:

  1. Fill the large inner pot with 2 litres of party ice.  Transfer into the DreamPot and close the lid.
  2. Place the jelly crystals and the gelatine into a bowl and make the jelly according to the packet instructions.  Allow to cool.

Method for base:

  1. Line the small inner pot with a large square piece of foil and press gently in and around the small inner pot. Grease lightly with additional butter.
  2. Melt the butter. Crumb the biscuits finely, add the butter, and mix together. Tip the mixture into the small inner pot and press down firmly with the back of a spoon to form the base.
  3. Place the small inner pot over the large inner pot (filled with ice). Cover with the stainless steel lid and close the DreamPot. Allow to set for approximately 1 hour.

Method for filling: 

  1. Mix the gelatine into the boiling water and stir to dissolve. Place the condensed milk, lemon juice and gelatine into a basin. Stir well to combine. Pour over the set biscuit base. Cover with the stainless steel lid and close the DreamPot. Allow to set for approximately 1 hour.

Method for topping: 

  1. Pour the cooled jelly over the set condensed milk layer. Cover with the stainless steel lid and close the DreamPot. Allow to set for approximately 1 hour.
  2. When convenient, carefully lift out the whole jelly slice from the small inner pot using the foil to ease out. Place onto a flat surface. Remove the foil lining and cut into squares with a long sharp straight edged knife.

Note: Frozen Techni Ice ™ blocks may be used in lieu of party ice.
